![]() When I come across those types of drives that do not fit, I usually use my PATA to SATA converter and connect the drive directly to my modern computer which has only SATA ports. Overall, it works fine and I have been using it for a few years without any problems, however the only down side is that the documentation and user guide require some improvement! You should also be aware that there was a time in the development of very early PATA interface standards, when all the manufacturers did not follow the same interface dimensions and location, and consequently there will be some early drives that will not fit the dock. I also found it extremely useful for backing up my data, and an advantage of this system is that you switch ON the drive only when you need access to the data, thereby reducing the wear on the disk drive. After connecting the unit, all the partitions on the docked drive appeared as individual drives in the "My Computer" window. I just recently bought a refurbished Windows 7 computer on eBay and wanted a way to be able to access the data on my old drives without permanently transferring them to the new PC, and thought this dock station was a great solution that worked well. The average Chinese person in Shenzhen usually has a high IQ and can figure things out, however we Brits need clear instructions for this. Since this is a very simple plug and play product, they probably thought that instructions would not be required. Windows 7 detected the docking station and installed the USB drivers automatically, and all the partitions on the drive appeared as individual drives. I decided to connect through another USB port on the front side of the PC and that seemed to work fine. After a while, I managed to figure out that the software was for the one touch backup (OTB) and cloning facility only. Therefore, I inserted the accompanying software CD and decided to read the instruction file, however, all it had was a list of OTB programs. You can download it here: hardware-cloning-manual.zipĪt first, when I connected the docking station to the PC, I did not see any new drives appearing in My Computer, therefore I assumed I may need to install a driver. On the front cover of the manual, there is a clear title, "Hardware cloning manual". The product is great however the paper-based user guide was very sparse andĪbout the cloning and OTB facility only. Please refer to the table below, which shows the models and their capability. All the models have a one touch backup (OTB) facility, however not all have the one touch cloning (OTC) facility. Many computers provide a socket such as this for connecting external mass storage devices. If you have never heard of eSATA, then it is simply SATA with a special plug and socket arrangement for connecting external storage devices. These docking stations are compatible with XP, Vista, Windows 7, MAC, and Linux operating systems. It connects through a USB 2.0 port, and does not have an integrated card reader. Model 875D is the basic version known simply as "IDE / SATA Docking". It is a backup and cloning solution with an integrated card reader, supporting CF, SD, XD, MS, and Mini SD, T-Flash, and Micro SD formats up to 32 GB in size.

ABA routing numbers are used for paper or check transfers. And while they do have similarities - and an ACH routing number is an ABA routing number - there are differences between ACH and ABA routing numbers: And that’s because ABA and ACH numbers are used for the same thing: transferring funds to their appropriate destination. And ACH payments are less expensive, or even free, which makes this a popular way for businesses to pay salaries.ĭepending on your banking institution, the ABA and ACH routing numbers might be one and the same. The word “clearing” refers to the process whereby funds move from one account to another to settle a payment an ACH routing number helps “clear” funds for quicker transfer on the same or the next business day, much faster than paper check payments or transfers, which take more time to mail, deposit and clear. ![]() 1 The first two digits of ACH routing numbers often range from 61 to 72, another way to distinguish them from ABA routing numbers.Īgain, ACH routing numbers are often used for electronic funds transfers of small one-time payments or scheduled recurring payments. Unlike ABA routing numbers, ACH routing numbers are used for electronic transactions between financial institutions. The acronym ACH stands for Automated Clearing House, and like ABA routing numbers, ACH routing numbers are nine-digit numbers unique to their respective financial institutions. ABA routing numbers apply to paper checks, which is why they are sometimes referred to as the check routing number.ĪCH routing numbers were developed in the 1970s - when the high volume of checks threatened to slow down the banking system - beginning a larger industry-wide shift toward electronic banking. Routing numbers are used for paying bills, reordering checks, or setting up a direct deposit with your employer (for your paycheck) or the IRS (for a tax refund). ![]() Smaller banks are assigned a single routing number, while multinational banks may have several. Personal and business account numbers provide that exit off the superhighway, directing funds to the correct accounts. The development of transport and communication at the end of the 1820s necessitated the introduction of a uniform time reference for the whole earth: 24 time zones were designated. Some time zone maps will also include information about daylight saving time, which is a system that adjusts the standard time in some regions to make better use of daylight during the summer months. The map will also typically show the boundaries between the time zones and indicate the standard time that is used in each zone. The different time zones are usually represented by different colors or shading on a time zone map. Time zones tend to follow lines of longitude because the Earth rotates on its axis, and different parts of the Earth are exposed to sunlight at different times of the day. Time zones are regions of the Earth that have adopted the same standard time, usually for the purpose of coordinating activities such as transportation, communication, and work. Time zone mapĪ time zone map is a map that shows the division of the Earth into different time zones. For Google Street View, pull that small yellow man from the left side of the map. Scroll with your mouse to zoom, or use the zoom buttons on the left side of the map. Move your cursor above the country you want to see the current time for and click to view the time zone and your actual time details. The map below shows the different time zones of the world. This means that if we travel through it in the east, we will lose one day, while we will gain one day to the west. The locations to the west are 24 hours ahead of the east of the line. On the opposite side of the earth to the starting meridian, a date-line runs mainly through the Pacific Ocean, avoiding the mainland. It’s important to note that the dates and times when DST begins and ends can vary from country to country, so it’s always a good idea to check the local time and whether or not DST is in effect when traveling to a new location. In Canada, DST begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November, with some exceptions. In the European Union, DST begins on the last Sunday in March and ends on the last Sunday in October. In the United States, for example, Daylight Saving Time begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. ![]() However, not all countries observe DST, and the dates when it begins and ends can vary from place to place. Many countries around the world observe Daylight Saving Time (DST), also known as “summertime.” Some countries that observe DST include the United States, Canada, Mexico, most of Europe, parts of South America, and some countries in Asia and Africa. The specific dates when Daylight Saving Time begins and ends, and the amount of time that the clock is adjusted, can vary depending on the location. The purpose of Daylight Saving Time is to make better use of the available sunlight during the longer days of the summer by shifting some of the daylight from the morning hours to the evening hours. This is done by moving the clock ahead by one hour at a specified time in the spring and then moving it back by one hour at a specified time in the fall. In the context of time zones, “summertime” typically refers to Daylight Saving Time ( DST), which is the practice of setting the clock ahead by one hour during the summer months in order to extend the amount of daylight in the evenings. ![]() Some areas, such as parts of India, Iran, and Australia, use non-standard half-hour deviations. For example, China could be divided into several time zones, but instead, the whole country uses the same time. Thus, for convenience, entire countries tend to adjust to the same local time rather than adjusting exactly to the zones. Governments can change their country’s time zone. The zones were measured according to the Greenwich Mean Time, used as the starting meridian, which measured hours before and after GMT. There are 24 timezones, separated by one-hour intervals, with each 15 degrees longitude. If someone travels by plane between two zones, he or she will adjust his/her clock to the one used in the new zone. Within each zone, people set their clock for the same time. This is because we divide the earth into different time zones. When it is noon in Rio de Janeiro, it is midnight in Tokyo. ![]() ![]() ![]() But to start with, place them upstream of your initial dam.Ĥ) Getting Stuff Done - Want something built or hauled asap?
